SALESMEN:  This company has lost money the past 3 years.  Unlike many banks, and General Motors, it isn't bankrupt, and has required no bailouts.  But, selling me something is generally impossible.  Telephone selling is prohibited, as my business and other phone numbers are all on the "Do Not Call List".  Sales proposals or advertising should be by mail or e-mail ONLY.  You will be contacted if I am both interested and have the funds.  Fat chance.  Sorry.  Not my fault.  Blame George W. Bush.

JOB SEEKERS:  I advertise having no employees.  That means all work must be done by myself, with nearly 40 years experience.  As the Economic Depression worsens, I now average one hour of work per week.  My suggestion is to start your own business, because only YOU have a job for YOU.   No one else does.

The exception is if you can apply for a job a day before the "Help Wanted" signs go up.  Nobody wants to advertise an opening, because they get stampeded, and have to deal with thousands of eager, smelly, persuasive, demanding, obnoxious people.  Hiring is ugly and nasty.  Everybody hates it.  After interviews, the whole office looks like a trash dump.

If you came along at exactly the right time, all that awful hiring and interviewing stuff can be eliminated.  Understand?  Now they're choosing you out of a field of one, just you.  Really easy, and no job applicants accidentally urinated all over the carpet, or vomited on somebody's desk.  What a relief that we found somebody.  You saved the company thousands of dollars, and a lot of grief.
